Steam Generator Car, 001
In order to provide emergency passenger support, should the PAs and RDCs not be available, a retired FB unit was converted into a steam generator car. The unit was gutted, removing the prime mover and air handling system, and a steam generator was unstalled. The electric traction motors were also removed, but the trucks and side frames remain.
